Selichot Pure Intention

1. Data collection

We collect nothing. We do not receive your name, your email address, your location, your chosen rite or any record of your use of the app. No analytics, advertising or tracking software is included. The app requests no device permissions — no location, no camera, no microphone, no contacts, no photos and no notifications.

2. Greeting cards and the text you type

The Shana Tova card composer lets you type a recipient, a blessing and a sender. That text is drawn into an image on your device, by your device — it is not uploaded anywhere, and no server of ours ever sees it.

When you choose to share a finished card, the app hands the image to your device's own share sheet, and from there it goes to whichever app and recipient you pick. If sharing is unavailable, the card is saved to your device instead. That step is always initiated by you, and the card is under your control until you send it.

3. Network connections

The app works fully offline. Both rites of Selichot, both Hatarat Nedarim orders, the Hebrew calendar (hebcal), the fonts and the card artwork are all bundled inside the app — nothing is fetched from a content server, a font service or an API in order to pray or to make a card. The app makes no outbound network requests of its own. The Android build declares the standard INTERNET permission because that is how an app of this kind loads its own bundled files locally, not because it contacts anything.

Two links inside the app open outside it, only if you tap them: the credit link to Kollel Or HaTalmud, which opens in your device's browser, and the support link, which opens your mail app with a blank message to us.

4. Data stored on your device

The app remembers two preferences on the device: the rite you chose (Sephardic or Ashkenaz) and your interface language. Nothing else is stored, and the text you typed into a greeting card is not kept after you leave the card. These preferences stay on your device, are not transmitted off it, and are removed when you delete the app.

5. Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone.

6. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
