AudioReady

Last updated: October 20, 2026

The short version: AudioReady collects no personal data, has no accounts, no analytics and no ads. Your audio and video files never leave your device — checking, fixing, converting and transcribing all run locally. The app goes online only to download a transcription model when you ask for one, and, in the version downloaded from our website, to check for updates and to activate a Studio licence key.

1. Data we collect

We do not collect, store, sell, or transmit any personal data. AudioReady contains:

  • No analytics or usage tracking
  • No advertising and no advertising identifiers
  • No third-party tracking or marketing SDKs
  • No account, sign-in, or registration
  • No telemetry or crash reports sent to the developer

2. Your audio files

Every file you open — through Finder's right-click menu, the share sheet, Open With, drag and drop, or the open panel — is processed on your device. Measuring loudness and peaks, checking a file against a delivery standard, writing a corrected copy, trimming, converting and exporting the QC report all happen locally. No audio, video, measurement or report is uploaded anywhere. New files are written beside the original or in a folder you choose.

3. Transcription

Transcription runs on your device. Depending on the language, it uses Apple's on-device speech recognition (set to on-device only, so audio is not sent to Apple) or a Whisper model that runs locally.

  • The first time you transcribe in a language that needs a Whisper model, the app downloads that model from Hugging Face. The download sends nothing about you or your audio — it is an ordinary file download, subject to Hugging Face's privacy policy. Downloaded models are stored on your device and can be deleted from within the app.
  • Apple may download its own on-device speech assets through the system, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

4. Purchases

Checking files is free. Studio — writing corrected copies, fixing a whole list, and exporting the QC report — is a one-time purchase.

  • App Store versions (Mac, iPhone, iPad): Studio is an In-App Purchase handled entirely by Apple. We do not see your payment details; we only receive confirmation from Apple that Studio is active on your account.
  • Version downloaded from our website (Mac): Studio is sold as a licence key through Lemon Squeezy, which processes the payment and emails you the key. When you activate the key, the app sends the key and your Mac's name to Lemon Squeezy's licence service, so the activation can be listed and later released; the key is then stored in your Mac's Keychain and re-checked when the app starts. We receive the order record Lemon Squeezy keeps for every sale (your email address and the licence), and use it only to support your purchase.

5. Updates (website version only)

The version downloaded from our website checks for updates through Sparkle, by reading an update feed at storage.bdtech.app. The request carries no personal data and no information about your files; updates are verified against a signing key before they are installed. App Store versions are updated by the App Store.

6. Contacting support

The app's "Contact" item opens an email in your own mail app, pre-filled with the app version and your operating system version. Nothing is sent until you send the email yourself.

7. Data stored on your device

Your preferences, chosen destinations, custom delivery standards and, on the Mac App Store version, the folder permissions that let the app write beside your files are stored locally in the app's own storage. On iPhone and iPad the app and its share extension share a private app group container that exists only on your device. Deleting the app removes this data.

8. Personal information

AudioReady does not require an account, email address, sign-in, or any personal information to use any of its features.

9. Children's privacy

AudioReady is a general-purpose tool, is not directed to children, and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
