Write the task down before it costs you the thought
Press the hotkey, type, press Enter. Click Reminder lives in the menu bar and writes every task straight into Apple Reminders. It turns up on your iPhone, and its notification arrives whether or not the app is running.
Free, with no in-app purchases and no account. Sandboxed, with one entitlement — calendars — and no network access at all.

Features
Capture in one keystroke, stored where you already keep things
One hotkey, then type
Option-Command-C opens the popover with the text field already focused, so there is nothing to click before you start writing. Enter files the task and gets out of the way. The hotkey is yours to change.
The tasks are Reminders
Not a copy of them. Each task is a real reminder in a list you pick, so it syncs both ways with iPhone, iPad and the Reminders app. Remove Click Reminder and everything you wrote stays exactly where it is.
Notifications that outlive the app
Reminders delivers them, not Click Reminder. Quit the app, or never launch it that day, and the alert still arrives — on whichever device you happen to be holding.
Dates and repeats, written as words
“Call mom tomorrow at 4pm” sets the due date; “report every Thursday” sets a weekly repeat. It reads English, Hebrew, German and Spanish — “כל יום חמישי” and “jeden Donnerstag” work too — and the parsing happens on the device.
Today's schedule above the list
Optionally, the next calendar events sit above the tasks with an “in N min” countdown and a one-click join for Zoom, Google Meet and Teams. The popover then answers “what's next?” as well as “what's outstanding?”. Off by default.
Built for the keyboard
Tab cycles Today / Tomorrow / Next week while you type. In the list, arrows move, Space completes, Backspace deletes, “/” filters as you type, and Escape backs out. The menu-bar counter turns red the moment something is overdue.
More from BD TECH
Two more that live in the Mac menu bar
Click Reminder is free. The same desk makes two paid Mac utilities that sit in the same place and get used the same way — a keystroke, and back to work.
